In September of 2000, while working for the Civic Education Project, I was invited by my friend Dr. Liliana Popescu, the country director for CEP Romania, to attend the program's annual orientation for new lecturers in Bucharest. It was a most memorable journey, despite the endless flight and long wait in Zurich for my transfer. Romania, though a very poor country, is rich in beauty, history, great food, and some very wonderful people.
